The best breakfast place in the country

If you ever go to Bigfork, Montana, one of the best places to eat is Pocketstone Cafe.
They have the best breakfasts I have ever had in my life. My parents and I, along with
the close family friends we stay with, would go to Pocketstone for most of our breakfasts.
The owner knows our spot and saves it for us, the long booth on the right side closest to
the front so we could people watch.  You’d see people carrying kayaks down to the
bridge on the Swan River. We’d count how many people would go by; who ever won
got to get on our kayaks first. The smell of the deliciousness in the restaurant is
something that I will never forget. The room was filled with the scent of hot cinnamon
buns and pancakes combined. That smell always comes back to me when I think about
Pocketstone. Here are some of my favorite breakfasts from there...

Heres a virtual tour of the cafe:

Pocketstone has the best hot chocolate out there. And yes, I consider hot chocolate a breakfast food.  It's homemade and so chocolaty. The homemade whipped cream on top is creamy and has just enough sweetness it makes you want more. The candy they put around the hot chocolate just tops it off perfectly. No matter the temperature or time of day, I can't go to Pocketstone without getting it. Everyone in the town of Bigfork knows that Pocketstone makes the best hot chocolate around Flathead Valley. Swiss Miss and Hershey's hot chocolate are good until you taste this one. Now everywhere I go, I just compare their hot chocolate to Pocketstone’s.  I have yet to find a place with better hot chocolate.

The Pocketstone’s cinnamon buns are the best I've ever had. It is impossible to go there and not order one, even as an appetizer. Yes, breakfast can have appetizers.  Well, at Pocketstone anyway. When the waitstaff brings the dish to your table, you are immediately overwhelmed with the smell of hot cinnamon and yummy goodness. The bun is almost as big as your face, but that does not deter you from wanting to eat it all. When I was younger, I would get the cinnamon bun and it felt almost as if it was larger than me. The taste of the cinnamon bun is like no other. The ratio of buttery cinnamon to dough is perfection.  You get the cinnamon sugary goodness with every bite. It is cooked to excellence and the sauces on top, make it the best. The dollop of vanilla icing helps tone down the sweetness and make it perfect to eat. The cinnamon buns are their best seller; every table has one or more and people come in to take it out.

The Pocketstone omelettes with potatoes and an English muffin on the side is my go to
breakfast meal. The potatoes are always cooked with just the right amount of crispy
tenderness and the taste makes them the perfect side. The English muffins are also
always toasted superbly.  You have to add the local huckleberry jam, made right next
door, to the muffins. Their omelette is the only one I will eat. I’m not a big fan of eggs,
but these omelettes are the exception. The different options you can choose from to put
into the omelette is crazy and you can really make it however you want. On the menu
they do have popular omelettes, but you can truly ask for whatever you want.

The Pocketstone pancakes are the hands down best pancakes I have ever had.
They are fluffy, light and cooked just right. Depending on my mood, I will usually get
either plan or with chocolate chips. I go between this breakfast and the omelette, it
depends on my mood that day.  When I get pancakes, I always get a side of bacon.
They have the best, crispy, thickest bacon anywhere. Pocketstone will cook it however
you like it. The huckleberry jam is available for this meal too. Pocketstone will prepare
your pancakes the way you like them and give you yummy options to go on top.

If you ever plan on visiting Bigfork, Montana or maybe you are planning to visit Glacier
National Park, just 45 minutes away, I highly encourage checking out the Pocketstone
Cafe, my favorite place to eat.
