What are the best sit-coms for a 14-15 year old to watch

Image result for best sitcoms

What do you think is the best sitcom? Everybody will tell you something different. One person might say Seinfeld if they grew up to it, or maybe Friends and some might say The Office. If it is a young person then maybe they say How I Met Your Mother or The Big Bang Theory. People may say cheers to. There is no right or wrong answer unless you say Modern Family because then that's wrong. If you are a 14 or 15-year-old you are not gonna watch any of those shows like Seinfeld or cheers. Here are my top 5 lists of sitcoms that you should watch if you are a 14 or 15-year-old.
5. How I Met Your Mother Image result for how i met your mother
How I Met Your Mother is a sitcom all about the character Ted Moseby goes through life
trying to find the “One”. It is called How I met Your mother because he is recapping how
he found his mother to his kids in the year 2030. Some people would say he taught his
kids a little too much. He goes through numerous failed relationships and very funny
adventures with his second-best friend “Barney” aka his wingman.
He always has a special place for one of the gang’s best friends Robyn. Robyn, who is
played by Cobie Smulders, is a struggling news anchor from Canada. This is something
that makes for some very funny jokes. When this show first came out it was directly
compared to friends. This show was very popular at the shows peak all because of
friends. Everyone loved friends and since it just ended this was everyone's new show
they watched. Ted’s quest to find his soulmate starts when his best friend and college
roommate is proposing to his girlfriend Lily who is also one of Ted's best friends. Barney
is a character who he meets at the bar they always hang out at above their apartment.
Barney takes Ted in as his wingman and they try to pick up girls every night. Barney
who is obsessed with suits and one night stands. Ted is always looking for something
long term. He decides to move to Chicago right after his best friend Barney and the person
he truly loves Robyn get married. He leaves that night of the wedding during the party. It is
tremendously sad. But the last three episodes are about how everyone else meets Ted’s
wife and he doesn’t until he goes on a train back to the city after the party. He decides to
stay in New York with her and have kids. His kids make jokes about how long his story is.
His Wife(Tracy) has been dead now for 4 years because of cancer. The kids tell him that
they figured out that he really loves their “aunt” Robyn so he goes over to her house to
ask her out. Ted always does things very elaborate. On the first date, they went on Ted stole a
blue french horn from a restaurant for her. He took a new blue french horn and screamed
for her outside his window. He put up the blue french horn and they started dating. Every
episode is filled with hilarious jokes and it will never ever get boring. This is why it ended
up on my top 5 sitcoms for 14 and 15-year-olds.
4.The league Image result for the league
This show is one of the most relatable tv shows for teens all because of the plot. It was
about a group of friends from high school who are all avid fantasy football players in
an intense league. They all make fun of each other a lot on the message board all in
good fun. They are just like a normal high school group of boys that like to make fun
of each other. They try to win at any cost necessary. Sometimes things get in the way
like they have to take care of their kids or hang out with their wives. They compete for
a trophy known as the shiva. It is all about bragging rights. Most of the time get in
trouble in their real lives because of fantasy football. They are just like a normal group
of high school teens. All of the characters are very relatable and they are all interesting.
The last-place team in the league is called the shiva. They have to go through brutal
punishments. The great thing about this show is that the plot basically resets every
season because of the new football season. This is what made the show so good and
entertaining because it is competitive and very interesting. They worship a fake god
called the shiva because they believe it will help their fantasy football chances. It
makes for hilarious content. This show was so beloved that season 6 was supposed
to be the last season. The people were so upset by this and the directors had no
choice but to bring it back for season 7. I believe that this show is not only so
tremendously hilarious but also very relatable. That is why I believe that this is a top 5
t.v show for 14-15-year-olds.
3.Arrested Development Image result for arrested development
Arrested Development is a show about family, well a very dysfunctional family. The
Bluth family is a very rich family but now the son Micheal has to take over the business
because his father was put in jail. They lose everything they have except one model
home they still have from the old real-estate company. They drive a stair-car around
just like ones found in an airport. There are 3 different sets of blues living in the model
home with their family. Job and his brother Buster who is a momma’s boy aren’t
married. Micheal has to figure out how he is going to get his family out of this mess and
his crazy mother doesn’t help. None of them have real jobs. The mother Lucille can’t
adjust and she goes crazy because she can’t do anything she used to do. Micheal
has a running joke going that he and his son are going to move away to Arizona.
His son George Micheal doesn’t want to move because of this fake business that he
built and his new very strong relationship with his cousin Maybe. Once this show got
dropped by NBC in the third season Netflix immediately picked it right up. Everyone
was loving this show. Netflix has continued to release new episodes and it is currently
in the middle of the 6th season. People can not get enough of it. It has very subtle
humor from most of the characters. Job and buster will always make you die laughing.
The family fights are even hilarious. This show is also relatable because of the family
aspect. I and I am sure most people would put this on their top 5 list of sitcoms for 14
and 15-year-olds.

2.The office  Image result for the office
The office is all about a paper company in Scranton, PA. It features everyday people from a
normal day. There are the more liked people like Jim and Daryl, the weird one in Dwight, the
boss and funny guy Micheal and Many, Many more odd and hilarious characters. They are
all very different. They are getting filmed by a film crew for a documentary on the regular
American workday. The documentary is called The Office: An American Workplace.
You see people come and go in the show and even the most beloved ones just like Micheal.
This show makes you crack up for hours. It never disappoints. It has some dark humor but it
brings the show to life. They sometimes have the threat of getting their branch shut down or
outperforming everyone. It is what I would call an odd bunch of people. The diversity in the
show also makes it hilarious. They got followed around 24/7 and the camera crew captures
everything that is going on. That includes affairs or even activities that happen beyond the
office. The bizarre encounters that happen on an everyday basis make for a hilarious show.
It captures how Pam and Jim eventually fall in love with each other and the pranks between
Jim and Dwight, I have been talking about how this show is so funny but there are many
intense parts of it and even some sad ones. When Michael left it even made me cry. Jim and
Pam in some fights or when Jim had to quit. The office is THE most hilarious show I have
ever watched and it definitely deserves to be on the top 5. It is an all-around show and it
most certainly deserves an A + + + + + + + in the characters section.

1.Friends  Image result for friends

Nobody will ever go wrong saying friends is a bad show. It is one of the most famous of
all time and still people can’t get enough of it. When Netflix dropped it at the beginning
of 2020 everyone was outraged. It is a building block for so many shows to come in
the future including one I already talked about. All some people talk about is who is
their favorite characters or certain episodes. It is about 6 friends who are as close as
any friends. 4 of the 6 live across the hall from each other and Ross lives across the
street from them. Their hangout place is the central perk where Racheal and Joey
have both worked at before. Joey who is a struggling actor the dumb one who makes
hilarious comments and is a slob. Chandler is kind of awkward but he is the funny
one who makes stupid or dumb jokes that make everyone laugh. Monica is a neat
freak and a control freak. Racheal is a spoiled person that comes to New York to try
and live on her own and rooms with Monica. Ross is a paleontologist and is Monica's
sister. He is BEST FRIENDS with chandler. Phoebe had a very interesting life. She has
a twin sister that she despises and her mother killed herself when she was young.
She became homeless and somehow had a kind heart and made it back on her feet.
The combination of all of the characters creates a hilarious show and I haven’t talked
about the relationships that they have in the group itself. They are always together
through rough times and fun. The show is about how they go about their everyday life
and what they do. How people date and what it really means to be a best friend even
if that is through a fight.  The words “we were on a break” will always resonate with
anyone that watched friends. It is one of the shows that bring people together. This
show is one of the greatest of all time for a reason. They always provide content that
never gets old. This show is special because it was a building block and it is about real
life. All of these reasons are the reason I have it as my number 1 sitcom TV show for
14-15-year-olds.

  1. Your opinions on what are the best sitcoms are really interesting. Many of the shows you mentioned I would also include in my top 5 sitcoms. You also did a really good job of describing each show. While I've watched some of these shows, you made me want to watch the ones I haven't already because your summary of the shows were so detailed. You also explained why you would recommend these sitcoms well because many of them are so funny and relatable. Overall, your writing was very descriptive and really made me want to watch some of these sitcoms.

  3. Hello Ethan- I have personally never watched a couple of the sitcoms that you included in your top 5 sitcoms. But because of the amount of detail you included, I became quite intrigued and I would like to begin watching them. And even though these summaries were on the longer side, you were able to keep me interested throughout all of them.

  4. I liked the way you talk about the league. You say that they stop at nothing to win, just like in your fantasy basketball league, where people 'collude' in order to improve their team. You show that people don't care about sportsmanship, only winning. But, that is the ugly truth about fantasy sports.

  5. I agree with Ben. But I have seen The office and Seinfeld. Your summaries were very clear.
